Sarang hanging rattan cocoon

Sarang means nest. This cocoon chair is hand-woven from natural rattan over a steel frame. The rattan comes from Kalimantan and is steam-treated, so it does not crack. Weaving one chair takes a craftsman about three days.

The single version is 100–120 cm across, the double up to 200 cm — state your choice in the notes. If you leave it blank, we will ask by e-mail before shipping. We confirm the load rating from the maker’s data sheet when we confirm your order; the chair is installed as instructed, on a hook or stand made for it. Package dimensions: 120×120×130 cm, packed weight 25 kg.

It hangs from a ceiling hook or a stand (stand available separately). It is happiest by a window, on a covered terrace or in a reading corner — with a cushion and a blanket.

Material and care: rattan likes a dry, airy spot. Keep the cocoon away from rain and radiators, and dust it with a soft brush or a dry cloth.

Handmade: the weave, shade and shape of each cocoon differ from the photo. That is how a craftsman’s hands work — a feature, not a flaw.
