Mata means eye. The mirror is framed in small cowrie shells and raffia, eye-shaped or horseshoe-shaped, on a wooden stand. The shells are natural and undyed — cream to grey. Cowries were the first currency of the Indonesian islands; today they are sewn onto frames in the Andong workshops, the same ones that make the sun mirrors.
Height 38–50 cm. The shape depends on the piece — if you prefer the eye or the horseshoe, say so in the notes. If you leave it blank, we will ask by e-mail before shipping.
Stand it on a dresser, a dressing table or a shelf; it can also be hung. It sits well beside an incense holder, a few shells and a candle.
Material and care: wipe the shells with a damp cloth and dry them; keep the raffia and wood dry. Clean the glass with cleaner applied to a cloth — do not spray the frame.
Handmade: the arrangement of the shells, their shade and the exact dimensions of each mirror differ from the photo — that is the nature of handwork, not a flaw.
Pre-order from the container: no prepayment when you order, and we send a photo of your actual piece before shipping.
Pre-order price in Polish złoty; the euro amount is approximate (NBP rate). Settled when the container arrives.
