Topeng wooden mask

A wall mask carved in wood: a calm Buddha face, the laughing Buddha of happiness or a traditional topeng dance mask. Made at the Karya Mas workshop (I Wayan Latra) in the village of Mas. Topeng is the Balinese masked dance — one dancer, a dozen faces. Dance masks are carved from light pule wood, decorative ones from suar.

Height 20–40 cm. Natural or patinated finish; state the motif and finish in the notes. If you leave it blank, we will ask by e-mail before shipping. Hook on the back for hanging.

On a hallway wall, above a desk, in a meditation corner beside an incense holder. A group of several masks with different expressions makes a small gallery.

Material and care: dust with a dry cloth or a soft brush. The natural version can be lightly oiled from time to time; do not oil the patinated finish. Keep away from radiators and full sun.

Handmade: every face leaves the chisel different. Features, shade and exact dimensions differ from the photo — that is the nature of hand carving, not a flaw.
