Capiz shell coasters (set)

Capiz is the thin, translucent shell of the windowpane oyster — in the Philippines and Indonesia it once replaced window glass. In Bali it is cut into petals and joined into flowers. A set of pearly coasters, flower- or shell-shaped.

Four pieces in the set, 10–12 cm across. The same plan line covers shell salt cellars and small bowls — say in the notes which you prefer.

On the dinner table, under a glass of water on the bedside table, as a base for a candle or an incense holder. The pearly surface catches candlelight.

Material and care: shell is naturally waterproof; wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not put in the dishwasher and do not soak.

Handmade: the shape of the petals, the pearl shade and the exact diameter of each coaster differ from the photo — that is the nature of handwork, not a flaw.
