A bag woven from ata fibre (a climbing fern) — one of the tightest weaves in Bali. Ata is woven in Tenganan, a Bali Aga village in the east of the island, and then smoked over coconut-husk fire. That gives its dark honey colour and smoky scent. One bag takes two to three weeks: weaving, sun-drying, smoking.
Round (Ø20 cm) or rectangular, cotton-lined, with a leather clasp. The same plan line includes raffia and straw hats — if you would rather have a hat, say so in the notes.
For summer and every day: with a linen dress, to the market, the beach, the café. Ata stands up to years of daily use and only gains character over time.
Material and care: keep it dry and out of the rain; wipe marks with a slightly damp cloth and dry in the shade. The smoking naturally protects the fibre from insects.
Handmade: the density of the weave, the shade of the smoking and the exact dimensions of each bag differ from the photo — that is the nature of handwork, not a flaw.
Pre-order from the container: no prepayment when you order, and we send a photo of your actual piece before shipping.
Pre-order price in Polish złoty; the euro amount is approximate (NBP rate). Settled when the container arrives.
