Woven baskets from Bali

Indonesian weaves are made from three fibres: water hyacinth, which grows fast enough to choke the canals of Java, seagrass with its scent of hay, and rattan, a vine harder than bamboo. Every basket is woven by hand over a frame, usually in a spiral from the base.

We carry laundry and toy baskets, trays, poufs and placemats. Natural fibres breathe, so they do not trap damp, but they dislike rain and wet floors. A soft brush and a vacuum are enough for cleaning; lift stains with a barely damp cloth.
