Furniture from Bali — suar and teak

Furniture from Bali is usually made from two woods: suar, with a wide, high-contrast grain that allows a tabletop cut from a single slab of trunk, and teak, hard and naturally resistant to damp. Both are solid wood, not veneer.

We carry coffee tables, consoles, cabinets, root stools, and rattan chairs and cocoons woven in workshops around Ubud. Every piece lists its dimensions in centimetres and its weight, because those decide how it ships: parcel, oversized courier or pallet. The timber comes from legal sources under Indonesia’s SVLK system.
